English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): This is a great beach break in that is always uncrowded. It's close enough to Corolla for easy access but far enough to keep alot of people away. Very laid back, not enough people in the water to worry about having waves to your self and your buddies
Atmosphère
English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): I love the atmosphere here, very easy going people who've come here to avoid the crowds and hve the beach to themselves for fishing surfing etc. Probably my best session on the east coast was here before Hurricane Floyd, we had NO clouds in the sky, NO wind at all, and the swell started the day head high breaking 200 yds out, and grew steadily to 10ft breaking 350 yds out, plus the water was crystal blue and there were only me and my two buddies in eyesight.

no title - Corolla/Corova at times can pale in comparison to the spots south but on the other hand I know places that when the bars are good are just as good as spots in town. There is such a prejuidice against the corolla area.

stay south - Corova/Corolla, the waves are the same, and they both suck. The only difference is the lack of $4000/week houses and tourons. Expect small closing out waves most of the summer. If it's blowing NE, you might see head high chop if you're lucky. And if the stars align, the wind will die down or switch offshore and you'll have a clean chest high day. Fall frontal systems and hurricane swells can create worthy conditions, but it is almost always better down south. Why go here? Daddy bought you a new jeep and surfboard; you want a place to drive on the beach and suck without anyone noticing. Otherwise, stay south.

Virginia Beach Without the Crowds - I spent alot of time here back in the 80's before it became a place for rich people. Our trailer was up at the very top on the last road before the Virginia State Line so I got to see all the beach every time we went. This place holds swell about the same as Virgina Beach, which means pretty lousy. The only advantage this place offers over VB is no crowds and your choice of sandbar.
