Storm Riders - 31 year local is right. I too learned to surf at this spot and others in Pinellas county 25 years ago and it isn't the same as it was. Then again, if you want to surf real waves your'e going to have to go far, far away from the Gulf Coast. Swells are few, weak and far between. Do yourselves a favor and move or travel.
