English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): This is Costa Rica's version of Puerto Escondido, so bring more stick than you think you will need. Lots of broken boards.
Atmosphère
English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): Great town, good people. This is a surf town but it is much less developed than Jaco and Tamarindo. Other spots in the area give you an alternative to this powerful break.
Général
English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): Beautiful scenery. Picture a rain forest meeting the ocean.

Buy boards in Dominical - Hey I'm heading to Dominical in a few months. Looking at the airlines it's pretty expensive to fly a board over there from New Zealand. Any ideas how easy it is to buy a new board, and how much they go for? Cheers

About Dominical - I've been to Dominical a few times over the years and like'd it plenty. I've been surfing 20 years now, but a few feet overhead and up at Dominical is pretty brutal paddle-wise. I woke up one morning and it was about 3-4 feet overhead, perfect tide, etc. and I was literally the only one out. It took me 30 minutes to reach the lineup, I took one wave, pulled off, and turned around to see swells stacked to the horizon. I was like "To hell with that!" If you can catch it kind of in-between macking southwest swell events on a highish tide before the onshores come on (happens more than you might think), you'll have an all-time session. Truth be told, no one goes out when it gets over 10 feet (at least not when I've been there) as it's impossible to get out and it closes out - everyone goes to this kind of mediocre left point maybe 10 minutes south. Also, stay away from the deserted beach called Playa Hermosa about 15 minutes south of Dominical - my wife got mugged there while my brother and I were in the water.
