Atmosphère
I'm not sure if this is a man-made reef or natural but there are typically three sections to it. There is a cloudbreak outside reef which will break under big swells, a mid-break and a shallow inside break. All are rock/reef and covered in seaweed. Rarely anyone ever surfs here. Which is funny because it is Myrtle Beach's ONLY low-tide option and can break exceptionally well for South Carolina surfing standards. Beginners should watch out though, the shallow reef can be dangerous!

Général
Light onshore winds are usually best, offshores may beat down the swell a bit. Under optimal conditions, the lefts can peel down the beach bending around the reef for 100 yard+ rides. The rights break a bit faster and can have some fun sections, but watch out of for the inside section, as the shallow inside reef likes to dump right on to it. Although great for little cover ups, not so great for the inexperianced surfer who may get hurt, so use caution when surfing this break. When The Reef is on it can sometimes make you question if you're even in SC...but that is very rare.

BS - There is no break here, and if there was, it definitely would not be a reef break.
