Not a secret spot - I found this spot just by asking folks when I moved here in 98. It is hardly a secret.
As far as wave quality, it it more miss than hit. I've surfed it maybe a dozen times in the summer and early fall only to surf a fun wind protected beach break. It may really be a classic right hander but odds are you will never know. Like most of the Oregon coast--with the exception of the Point--when its on the odds are good that only the locals will catch it.
I learned to surf in Santa Cruz and lived on Kauai for awhile and I think that he key to happy surfing in Oregon is gratitude for the natural beauty and lowered expectations as to wave quality. Then when it is good it's super fun.

cali transplant - Ok youve gotta live here to catch the spot...But its not really worth it. The guy from indo is right is it really worth it..Ive wasted more friggin gas money since Ive moved here (17 years ago)..If your from cali save your energy and just get up at 5 am on the coldest winter morning and score cali. Its cleaner and even at 5am way warmer and safer..Ive seen 3 great whites since I moved here. Scary chit. Bumped once and splashed another. Ive check this spot about 20 times which is like a half hour hike just to see it..It usually is closed out and only breaks a few weeks a year. On specific tide not mentioned here. And the time of year when it normally happens is when most would guess it wouldnt. I have no agenda here I live 2 hours from this spot..Save your gas money. Unless you get off on a long beautifull hike and only not to surf.

- 1976 the first and only time the trailblazers won the NBA championship. I was camped on the point for three days of sun and surf. will never forget it.
