Very Tricky. You can park at Koalina Resort and carry your board or at Tracks (not recommended) by the Power Plant headed toward Waianae (West Side of Oahu) which means a healthy paddle out.You know you have reached Parthenos when (from the water) you see a sign concreted into the cliff wall that bears the name of the spot. It is concreted into the face about a meter off the water and looks like a small street sign - says "Parthenos" on it. And if you miss the sign, then another landmark is (believe it or not) some enterprising homeless that have built a small home in the side of the cliff with seats and cooking areas - only visible from the water! They made it look like some kind of American Indian cliff dwelling on Oahu. Surreal!!

Informations supplémentaires
A big board is how to surf this break right! That said up front realize that you have to get your board into the water in order to surf and parking is the big issue. Koalina Resort has to provide public access but there is such limited parking that they have found a way to obey the law - yet still screw the surfer. Typical. And if you park at Tracks with all the tweakers, homeless, crack heads - then you risk being broken into. So parking is a challenge... I have a solution but if I tell you then you will take it so figure that part out yourself and see you in the lineup.

Atmosphère
This is simply an amazing spot! When the West Side (Makaha) goes off, you can see the lines of corduroy going way out to sea. It works on South swells with proper wrap as well as North swells. And of course, works on a West swell everytime. Everyone has seen the surf here yet this spot remains hidden in plain sight. You will not find a resource that identifies it & this may be the first! Someone had to tell and regardless, most won't have the sack to paddle out there due to the shark threat (big time) and the flat out inconvenience of getting to it. Most people lack the adventure spirit required and will just paddle out in town most of the time. The wave starts to work at about 4 feet (Hawaiian) and then continues to work up to about 10 foot (Hawaiian) until the tow-in guys take control. On smaller days, a big super-tanker (longboard) is the right call but when the wave rises - you are going to want a big wave gun & 70's Brewer style is what I ride on this wave.

Général
The wave looks like the Hawaiian version of Cliffs in San Diego in alot of ways when it is medium sized. Except it is thick like Sunset without the hold-down's. Since it is deep water (beautiful coral and underwater park type environment) that ends up breaking against a set of 4 story high cliffs - the water has a personality unlike most spots on Oahu. Reminds me of Blacks (San Diego) on a big day when it gets big and the hold downs are like that at Sunset on a big day. Unlike most spots, at this one you want to take the first wave in the set so you don't get the backwash off the cliffs which causes a forward bump / throw on the wave face (like inside Makaha). Then just face the next few sets with sack in hand and watch out for "big hungry" who prowls constantly at this spot. Very sharky - Tigers abound! You don't have to be the fastest guy in the water if you see a shark or two cruising here - just be the only guy not bleeding from the nose. So take a buddy for punching in the nose if you see a shark. What are friends for anyhow...
