The waves hold up better, their bigger and faster (usually) than the right.
Not much crowd to the right.
Can get decent swells at the end of the pier, but good breaks all the way in.

Tha locals - This is my local break and where I learned to surf. The vibe is awesome and the locals are swell :)

Longboarders Wave - I've lived in the Corpus Christi area for years and this is one of my favorite spots after SPI. The south jetties offer great protection during a northeast swell and the atmosphere is very friendly and rarely crowded. The wave does tend to mush a bit so a longboard is prefered. The north jetty on St. Joe's Island offers some great waves but only on large Southeast swells. You will have to take the ferryboat across as the paddle across the ship channel is long.

Good rollers - I've surfed this spot for years during the 90s. From what I recall, this place was good during larger swells, but didn't have good barrel opportunities. Good for long-boarders or beginners. Watch out for fisherman casting their lines, fishing for shark.
