Ridiculous Internet Goers - Grew up in SC my whole life (the past 21 yrs!) Davenport Local. Honestly, 80% of the time the friggin 20mi+ drive is WORTH IT. Man has become a solid spot in my surfing life. That, and Waddell. Dumb eastsiders surf the fickle pickle point, and the westside is just ridiculous crowd control. Stop bitching about how Manresa sucks because the majority of the time its GREAT! Its a west facing beach break, so of course its not going to be perfect all the time, but its one of the best damn beach breaks you will come across. Most of these ppl are beginners, who have surfed ONCE! Try surfing it MINIMUM 3 days a week, for 10 years. Then you will realize how truly great this place is. South County surfers are the best. Wicked style, total chill attitude. They are not the crazy locals you think, try living in Davenport where I life. They make westside seem like a playground. I see dudes get their cars and their faces messed up at the landing all the time.

Manresa is GREAT. Its got speed, punch and works with just about whatever swell. I have surfed Man on days where you would swear it was a peeling point. Stop judging it. If its over your head to surf here, don't complain. Get your skills up, your knowledge. Beach breaks work differently than cowells, surfing REAL waves is different than cowells. Either get in gear, or go tangle your log riding selves into some kelp at 38th. Old man 'oneill will be laughing his ass off at your rich ridiculous people

P.S. Valley go home. Stop spending your money on hella expensive boards when I surf a hundred times better than you. Go fucking by a costco softtop and go to cowells. Stop stealing the ocean unless you truly respect it. Work your way up. But if you cant, GO HOME!

learn respect or go home - Actually, us locals do have the right to the waves, we grew up here and we live here....thats how surfing works. I don't go outta my way to BE a dick to all of the kooks from elsewhere that have a disposable income and just decided it would be cool to learn how to surf. But we do not owe any of you kooks any respect. Its the other way around. Know that before you come to Manresa/La Selva/ Sand Dollar. If you don't know how to surf, don't paddle out to a good peak where a bunch of locals are. Its simple and makes sense. No one wants wax on their windows or a brick upside their dome... figure it out.

not powerless. beginners be careful - I got my butt kicked and my first real dues paid at Manresa. The friends that went out surfing here for their first outing have never surfed again. This wave has FORCE. It was the first beach break I surfed and gave me a lot of respect for the ocean. And yes, it does wall-off 99% of the time. If you know how and when to choose your wave, though, you could have some serious fun here, though. Even some great longboard lines now and then. But you have to use your head here, or you'll have your face planted in the sand!!!
