English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): Go to Montana De Oro state park past Los Osos. Keep going until you see a gate and a sign that says "Sand Spit" and "Day use only." Go down that road and it will dead end in a parking lot. Then get out and walk down the path that goes towards the ocean. English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): On a big day it is impossible to paddle out. On a good ground swell in October this place has lots of hollow and consistent fun waves. If one peak is too crowded it is easy to walk a little bit down the beach and find another peak all to yourself. Unfortunately this exposed beach gets blown out quite often. This place sucks for wind swells.

- sand spit is pretty freaking heavy. i know i guy who broke 3 boards in a week there this winter. its really a rock reef that is covered with sand i think though, so its not a true beach break

? Always bigger? - to the first comment u said its always bigger then the surrounding areas? are u talking about surrounding beach breaks because iv seen hazies and spooners at 2 1/2 overhead and still breaking clean. never seen sandspit break good over 13foot or so. mabey i jsut dont surf there enough?

Board Snapping or Crappy - this place can get good, not as often as you would think though, it picks up tons of swell, best waves I ever surfed here were in summer and fall, otherwise it just gets massive in the winter and really nobody surfs the place when it is huge cuase there are like 5 sandbars to paddle through so it is impossible to get out. I would recommend going to this spot when the waves are small and you need to get in the water cuase there is ususally something to ride here
