English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): Driving into Stinson, turn right onto the beach parking lot. Walk out to the beach and start going to the southern end with all the rocks. Its a long 15 minute walk. Once you arrive at the big rocks, start to paddle around them. You will then arrive at a beach full of small rocks. This is the beach. Theres a small closeout wave on the shore, and can get up to 2-3 ft. Localism - The locals that surf RCA are FAR from wealthy....no SUV driving moms out here either + that guys story is wrong, cant even drive to the beach let alone see it from the road...Super tidal and fickle, your not going score it unless you know a local. If you do go out there, dont bring any friends or a long board and you might get some waves depending on whos out. If your a dick....you WILL get heckled out of the water and your car WILL get trashed...

I heard a story - A story about some boys at rca burning and taunting a man to the point of pissing him off enough to want to fight. 3 boys, vs one guy. Anyway after calling them to the beach for a pounding, none of the boys would go in. Our hero decides to paddle back out and deliver a beating at sea, but when he gets close to boy no. 1 he's crying and telling his friends to call the police. The man, being a reasonable person, realizes the absurdity of this situation and drops it. the three boys paddle in, followed closely by a man who doesn't want to have his valve cores removed, the three stare at each other, change quickly, hop in mommy's SUV and speed away.
moral of the story, yes, the "locals" are pussies. I've surfed and shared waves with many of the men that surf up there, and have never had a problem. Entitled rich kids on the other hand... You guys should stick around after letting the air out of folks tires next time, see how that goes for you.

Actual Directions/Guide to Surfing RCA - from bolinas, turn onto mesa road. Continue until dirt parking lot on left for Commonweal. You will see a white building that says "RCA Communications," walk towards this building on road, then go through gate into cow pasture on right. It will be unlocked. Continue walking towards the big tree and ravine. Follow trail past a fallen telephone pole and you will arrive at bluff. Use rope going down ravine to access the beach. The wave itself is fickle. I have seen it huge in the winter and totally empty. I have also made the trek out there only to see that it is flat at RCA and firing elsewhere even at Palo. That being said, it is definitely only surfable at high or medhigh tides. You will need to put in the time if you want to get this wave good. It is a reef and very rocky. Locals are also very aggro if they see you in the lot. You can also just stash your board and park far along mesa if you don't want any risk of windows getting waxed. I've never been hassled once actually out in the lineup though. Enjoy!
