English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): To the north of Cardigan Bay the coast is protected by the Irish landmass. However, the south-west Pembroke penisula has many surf spots. This region extends east to Llaneli, from there the 'South Wales' region encompases the Gower Penisular.

wales in united kingdom - At north of Wales.There is a Cable Bay. This narrow bay is West facing and on a moderate swell can produces decent waves. However, the rides tend to be short, and it often closes out. It's sheltered by the cliffs from Southerly winds which is a real bonus, offering a surfable wave when nearby beaches will be blown out. It works best either side of high tide and can hold a wave over six foot. A good all round wave, safe for beginners in smaller swell. Parking near the beach is added advantage of surfing here.
