English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): Guernsey's big wave spot is located across a deep water channel from the Islet of Dom Hue. Rarely surfed (you have to walk pass the right/left to get out there), this spot picks up any swell going but as with the other breaks in this area it is easily blown out. Starts breaking properly at about 4/5ft and has been known to hold 10ft+. Generally consists of a relatively short right-hand bowl, this wave is not to be taken lightly, the shifting peak can see you easily getting caught in the impact zone by a wide set breaking further towards the channel.

The big peak - Really fun when its glassy/light offshore and in the region of double overhead or a little more, the drops not too bad when its like that. But it can be sketchy when the winds a little stronger making the drop more difficult, its always late. Plus the inside/outside ledges make positioning really important here too. Judging the size of the sets is important, you dont want to let one go past because you're too far out and you don't want to get caught inside, thats for sure. Theres dry reef after the wave, it is possible to get dragged over it if you eat it or get caught inside. When you're in the lineup you are about a mile out to sea if you're looking at the perelle cove (the garage), its not somewhere you want to surf alone really.

two take of spots. - Their are basically two take of spots within 40 ft of each other. If you want to play safe sit in the middle of them and paddle towards the peak that you want to get.The inside can be bare rock but if the tide is high @say 8.4 to 8.7m then this dry section is coverd enough and can produce a very hollow section.Any tide above a 8.7m forget it as you will have to paddle the whole time to stay in position. Also the larger the tide the harder the paddle back as you aproach the island again. The peak isn't surfed that often but is very powerful and good fun.
