There's a small channel on the south side of the break that makes paddling out dry hair if timed right. The shorebreak is gnarly when the swell has some size. The main peak breaks over a shallow reef in front of some rocks, however, it's easy to sit on the shoulder to pick off a shorter ride. Either way, it is a short wave, not really ridable for more than two or three top turns, or a short barrel. I have checked it many times, and only found it as good as the pictures the one time.

The Reykjanes peninsula is subject to tide changes of over 15', so this spot is definately affected by the tide. At low tide, the reef is exposed. There are some currents, shallow reef, and inside rocks. Plus, I guarantee if you show up alone, you'll be surfing alone. For that reason, this spot should really only be surfed if you have some experience, and feel comfortable paddling and duck diving. This whole area is notorious for treacherous currents, so use common sense in paddling out.
