When at Ajaccio airport (Campo dell' Oro airport), leave by the road that goes immediately seaward (by car or by foot, it's about 600m. away). Then, on the left you'll see a big parking lot in front of the sea : park here (watch for burglars !). When facing the sea, turn left again and walk on the beach (toward Porticcio) until you see some barbed-wire : that's the end of the airport landing strip and that is also the first spot. The second spot is a but further, immediately at the feet of the only rocky point of this beach. On it stands a Genoese tower + some blockhaus from World War II. Access is also possible from Porticcio by the beach or by boat, from anywhere you want (ajaccio gulf). If you use a boat, look at a marine chart before you go : anchoring is forbidden in the take off / landing zone of the airport...you would'nt want a plane to crash on you, would you ?

Informations supplémentaires
The main danger of these 2 spots is the SHOREBREAK, because there are no tides in Mediterranea.
The waves constantly crash the same part of the beach and that builds up a serious shorebreak zone.
Apart from that, the beach is very safe and currents are poor.
The "landing strip" surf spot is a right and left beachbreak; the Genoese tower spot
is mainly a left pointbreak with sand bottom.
NOTE : the immediate surroundings of the Genoese tower spot are a
meeting place for men-nudists and gay men...so do not be surprised to see 'em look at you in
an inviting way. They're not bad guys, thought, and you can smile back inocently : just be
prepared to say no / yes, according to your own feelings.

Atmosphère
Very safe place if you exept the shorebreak which, indeed,
pushes a lot but does not get very high.
It is strange also to see the planes take off and land
just a few meters away !
Maybe you should not let your family / friends
put the towels under the planes...who knows, uh ?
Personnaly i enjoy more the Genoese tower spot
because it has a more beautiful landscape (and not because it is a gay spot, too !!!)
but, anyway, there are no other surfers around so you can surf the 2
spots in the same session to make yourself an idea.

Général
Just a few hundred meters away of the airport, this is the ideal place to
surf in Corsica for the first time...if there is any swell, of course.
Take the time to come back here after a gale (when the wind calms down) or
if you hear about a low pressure system West or SouthWest offshore
Corsica island.
