 Accès

This is on the east side of the island, near Orient Beach (the clothing optional beach). You have to take a boat to the spot, and the French-owned and operated staff have a boat to take you out, called the "Ecole de Surf de St. Martin". Follow signs to Galleon beach, then signs to the Butterfly farm. Go straight til you hit the beach at the end of a sandy road.

Général

A lot of fun, and way better than doing the typical tourist stuff! Stay away from the fatties on Orient Beach, where you'll find way more senior citizens walking around naked than you ever thought possible.

Le Galion (Dec 2007) - Waves were small but not a very crowded spot. Great for beginners. You can rent equipment at the surf shop and take lessons. It's a bit expensive but staff very friendly. They only speak french tho, so dont take a lesson if you don't speak french as it will be a waste.

great spot - surf there about 2 times a year and always catch surf.the paddle is not bad. its calm and you go through a channel to get to the line up.also its le galleon not el galleon.if your in st.martin also surf bowls, wilderness, and cupecoy.bowls is across the bay from le galleon wilderness is the n.e.point and cupecoy on the carribean.dont forget your sunscreen!

walk to the point - indeed, walk to the point: into the water, watch for the urchins and in 10 minutes you are in the line up:always something to ride> nice bowl section on the inside and try to go left!
