 Informations supplémentaires

Just drive to Playa Remandso, which is located south of San Juan Del Sur. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes by a car. Watch out in the rain season it gets slippery as hell...so take 4x4. When you've arrived at Playa Remandso you've got to climb over the little hill on the left side, takes about 15 minutes. On the hill top you'll hopefully see some swell lines down in the little bay. Enjoy the surf by your own or with some friends. this spot is always uncrowded.

Général

It's defenitely not a world class spot, but definitely better to surf with just a hand of friends instead of hassling for waves at a crowded spot...that's what I think.

Robbed at knife point at Playa Remanso - Surfed Playa Remanso a week ago with my girlfriend. The sun had just set and we were leaving the beach. There is a dirt road that goes to the beach there and on our way out a log had been dragged across it making it impossible to drive around. I initially thought the resort next to the road had put the log there to keep other tourists from going to the beach at night. I found out that was a mistake after I got out to move the log.

Three banditos appeared out of the forest with machetes, big rocks, and a 7 inch blade threatening me and my girlfriend. They demanded all of our money and stole my bag full of our camera gear and other equipment. They even stole the face to the stereo in the car! One dressed in full black: Black mask, black shirt, and black pants. Other two had shirts wrapped around their heads. Took a few swipes at me with the knife before I was able to get them the access to the back seat of the car where the bag was.

I highly recommend getting off the beach before sunset and do not even think about being anywhere near the last people on the beach at Tamarindo or Playa Remanso. Get the full insurance on your rental vehicle so you can ram any obstacles in the road and do not get out of your car!

Playa Tamarindo - Tamarindo has 3-4 decent zones or point breaks along a long beach. It was huge everywhere except Tamarindo which is usually smaller on big days. Colorados was 1.5-2.0 overhead, while Tamarindo was 3-6 ft on the sets. After surfing some size for a couple days, Tamarindo was the only place my girlfriend could get in. The smaller wave and no crowds were big pluses (Maderas was packed). We went by boat, so no bandito problems. 1-2 groups showed up at different times, but no crowds. One of the few beginnerish spots and great for my girlfriend who was taking off on head high waves by the end of the trip and loving it.

It is such a bad wave and banditos around - went there with a buddy and left our sandals and t-shirt there, well all the sudden when we were in the water a pack of banditos appear and stole our stuff, nothing serious but wave was not worth it - you could try but bring an old pair of sandals and t-shirt that says goof on it....
