The place is located behind Rene's Sports Bar and Restaurant on the southern end of Rosarito Beach. It is not visible from the "Old Road" As opposed to the toll road which you should take out of Tijuana. It is located in front of the mobile home park next to Rene's which is also gated. Park in Rene's parking lot and see the bartender. You can probably get away with just ordering a beer after your surf. If not, there is secure parking that you can probably pay for. Believe it or not it is pretty safe from thieves as it is patrolled by private security.

I know of the place because my wife is Mexican and has a home with her mother in the park on the beach. We make regular trips during the summer and everytime I go out, I am completely alone. Seriously...It seems hard to believe but it is true. I surfed it just a week ago on 7-20-04 and the water was crystal clear, 70 degrees and super fun overhead left peaks.....ALL Alone. It is a great bodyboard wave as it is pretty hollow and very quick. The best day I have had it I surfed the fourth of july last year when Huntington Beach was 8-10 and closed out. There it was 4-6+ and Super Fun and again, I was alone. So I feel obligated to share this one. We named it Gracie's Beach, because, the beach has no name. And my three old daughter thinks it is her beach and calls it....Gracie's Beach. But when you approach the walkway to the sand the sign will only say "Playa" We took the initiative to now give it a name. The main thing about this place is granted there are better spots close by....But to have total solitude is sometimes what we are searching for. Hit it in the morning and if your expectations aren't all that high and all you want is fun solo waves....Give it try...

I love it because I come from the day when I surfed Lower Trestles with 5 guys out....It is just a really comfortable place to hang with your friends and family and surf whichever way you want with no vibe from anyone ever...Ever...It is pretty cool.
