English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): Spot at the end of a fine sand beach, with a point break which goesright at high tide, and a beach break, which is a fast left and right, better at low tide but surfable and good at all tides. Car parking is easy and lots of it; NZ remains an empty country!
Atmosphère
English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): A good spot, very consistent, 5 flat days/year, only necessary to wait for favorable wind conditions. sometimes crowded, but a good atmosphere, the locals are very cool and there are enough waves for everyone. The spot is easy to get out, you just need to follow the channel which is always in the same place between the point-break and the beach-break!
Général
English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): The most easily accessible spot, not the best spot in the area, but the others require a car to get to them. A great spot, it is very consisten (everyday), a bit crowded, and watch out for the sea lions!

St. Clair - I have surfed St.Clair in so many different conditions that it is really hard to say what it is like. I have had mushy rights, sweet left barrels and strangely enough the single heaviest dredging right of my life. St.Clair is the most consistent break in Dunnos but definately not the best.

Spence told!!! - St.Clair is the hub of Dunedin surfing. Its the first place you check and probably surf. Bull kelp tubes in front of the saltwater pool or way back at JR's or seconds and left barrels in the channel and shorebreak barrels at the poles. It's all good. Small or very very big it holds shape and offers tubes and walls for every sort of surfing manouvre. The locals have it wired and enjoy the fruits year round-even if they must trudge through the snow or past bad breathed sea lions. Its a good scene with a strong local boardriders club that has great facilities right on the beach. Enjoy. Respect the locals and they may show you some of the other less populated spots up and down the coast. I miss it. Good memories. Some of the best waves of my life.
