puMPS - Only real spot to go when the North Easterly gets strong. I spent 4 years surfing around Dunedin and had 4 seperate encounters with big sharks they are always not far away down there, mix it up with a few angry Sea Lions and you are in for some pretty exciting adventures. Once turned up at Black Head and all the boys were standing on the beach watching a 15 foot Gt White sniffing through the swell lines.

sweet as little spot - just had a few days round dunedin- when everything else was cross/onshore this spot stayed nice an sheltered (northeasterlies the whole time...grr). small clean swells, quiet local crew. 2-3ft, bit fat, but at least it was clean. loved the black head lit in evening light with black skies...nice moody spot.

REALLY FUN - I scored the best waves of my trip at black head beach it was a monday morning 4 foot perfect lefts with only 2 guys out getting really nice barrels all morning
