The tube is short, and the total length of the wave is approx 30m. The bigger it is, the safer it is.

NB: The day the photo was taken, a guy got pitched onto the reef and broke his leg....

Not to bad - A good fun wave. Its great fun when the tides mid to high but its pritty much a closeout once its low. The place isnt as intimidating as most people say, its just got a little more balls than the breaks that most people surf in Wellington. The people who get hurt out there are ether charging realy hard or their not confedent surfers

- just be prepared for the amount of water moving in front of the wave..dont think your gonna paddle round when your cuaght inside, youll be pulled back towards the rocks by the carpark and into the next wave at the same time

Great fun wave - When we used to go surf this place we always took surfbaords and boogers. Surf and make one drop in three just due to the sharp as hell transition, have fun, and then come out and bag a stack on the boogs.Surfed it at 4ft at midnight on a moonless night. Tightly defined takeoff and rock in front to give warning makes it just doable. Super fun if you are game.
