 Accès

Take a ferry or boat from Auckland to Waiheke Island, then head to the North facing beaches.
You'll need to take a bus from the ferry terminal either to Oneroa (main town) if you want to try the beaches there.
The best beach is probably Onetangi Beach. The swell there is more consistent and more frequent than on the east facing beaches north of Auckland. And the island is just so cute. There are a couple of coffees facing the beach on the eastern part and you can also find accomodation there.

 Informations supplémentaires

Needs a big Tropical cyclone NE swell to break. Only go if the surf is to big for the rest of the East Coast spots in auckland.eg. If it's 10ft up the coast then it will be 4-6ft if the direction is good and if the wind is good too it's goes off.

other spots - spot x, a right hand reef break that barrells sick!axe handles, near cactus bay, sickest peak bounces of rocks and wedges up. when it is waist high in onetangi it will be over head at axe handles.

Good spot - The Right hand side of Onetangi Beach on Waiheke Island Is the only decent easy acess break. The locals call it Peaks because on the Mid tide it bounces off the rocks a little and peaks creating a nice take off point.
