English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): This spot is on an outer island off the east coast of auckland. Very difficult access..only by boat...if you havn't heard of this wave you will never find it.....the swell has to be a big grunty tropical cyclone swell. When this occurs this spot will be 4ft and freight train barrells. Good luck finding it. Motuihe - There are two or three reefs on Motuihe that break. The one off the western end, a left reef/point is the most consistent (4 or 5 times a year). Never seen anyone surfing it, but have seen a number of waves there on the Waiheke ferry on the way past. Need a boat. I don't think it is caves. There is also one at the eastern end...likely to break less often, but have flown over it a couple of times. A left hander. Both tide dependent. There is another reef in the middle of Motuihe, seen it break from a distance, but not sure if it is a closeout. There are also two beachies. Again, I don't recall ever seeing any "caves" there.
