 Informations supplémentaires

this spot always has banks but needs swell, usually a cyclone swell is the best, the only other time it has swell is a wind chop (onshore crap)

Atmosphère

the alternative name says it all, this is the most sharkiest wave ive ever surfed in my life!!! the first time i surfed here i saw 2 tiger sharks a dolphin and some little reef shark that all got about 20 metres away from me!!!when surfing this wave there is always a current sucking you into the alley or out the back so always have someone in the boat so they can take you back to where its breaking, this makes it a bit dangerouse!

ye ol' Angel - Angel has a couple of breaks on it and what you see here is main bay. It does get good but needs a big swell (and if the swells up why would you stop here??) The right is long and powerless and on it's day you can catch a wave from the peak to the beachy. the left is short and often gets hollow on big days. The passage between Angel and gidley is called sharks passage for a reason. This is were sharks, seeking a rest, point their pectroal fins down and pin themselves to the bottom as the 2 - 5 meter tide rushes over their gills. Anchoring in this passage can be tricky but with a SMALL boat (not a charter) and a shipload of chain can be acheived easily and safely (you can nearly skurf behind an anchored boat on a big tide change) Second bay is a right hander breaking over shallow coral bombies which gets hollow and slightly dangerous. It produces great speed and has something for eveyone including an oyster encrusted shore line for the gimps and goatboaters. Just watch out for the sneakers which can close the whole bay down on low tides... Trust me! Oh and don't stress about the sharks, they're only there to pick your torn remains from the reef after a heavy slam.

thinking about moving too karratha - Geez GuysMake it harder for a bloke...I live second house up from a great reef break at watermans in perth and the missus has a job offer in karratha she just cant refuse. I dont mind as long as there is a wave , but it sounds like red neack wonderland by the replies that has been submitted. For fuck sake who is going up there for a surf trip???? If there is waves share it. Ill go mad without a surf and I would love too meet a crew..

angel - i was born a bred in a town not so far by karratha. lived there all my life. grew up riding boogie in broome a bit. this is the only break that us boys have close buy here. it only breaks a few times a year and at the moment is ripping thanks to cyclone. it says somehting about a secret spot jsut around the bend a bit. jsut thought id let them know if they dont already but just around the corner is one of the most shark infested waters in australia. they rarely come into angel break. actually have a picture i can put up will get to it straight away.if goin here for surf trip make sure u take the dive charter "blue destiny charters" the old man runs it. definatly a few sight to see
