go to newcastle ocean baths, on the northern side of that there will be a little cove between the baths and dry reef on the other side.it is the break which is in front of Flatrock..it won't be hard to find at all if you are new to newcastle because it is a breack which is crowded by locals like myself.. flat rock is just out off the point , good heavey alternative, jump off the rocks instead of paddling.only come to the hole if you know what your doin as it is a pretty sucky ride and if you don't know what your doing you might come a gutser'...my tip would be to stay deep so you can get a good ride and hold on in the barrel and enjoy your time...and make sure that you call stand up surfers off your wave as they sometimes like to pull in on you..ecspecially in summer as alot of people like to surf the hole..

Atmosphère

on a perfect day you can get heavily barreled at flatty, ride that same wave along ,get enough speed to out run the next couple of sections (dodge a few of the slower mal riders) and hit the final section right on shore.this place is an excellent place because it's a 1 minute walk to the kiosk if you want something to bite on..and if your up just for a swim in a still water pool the baths are there to muck around on and there is a diving board aswell...and there is always a spot to put your gear..and if your up for a even more exciting surf go out flatrock it is a bit further out than the hole..it's not hard to find there is locals out always..
