If you go to the monument to Mexico on the hill above Onjuku, then before entering the driveway for the monunent continue up the hill about 100 meters, you'll find what looks like a driveway toward the ocean. Walk down through the valley to the ocean. There's a little (dirty) sand beach that sits between 2 cliffs. Paddle out on the right hand side and line yourself up with the 3 bouys in the water.

Be careful on a low tide. It can get really shallow over a flat rock reef.

Atmosphère
There is said to be a pack of wandering gaijin (foreigner) watermen that surf this spot on occasion. They've been know to get in fights with others (as well as yell at each other in English-- I assume they are Australians or something), and even surf in their underwear. If those guys are in the water, it may be best to find somewhere else, as they tend to hog the waves, snake and runover the natives with their longboards. It's too bad such a small group can give the other gaijins a bad name.

Général
I've never seen this spot go off, but I would expect on a big swell, it could get very good.

Fruit of the loom? - That's a US brand, nothing to with Australia, don't blame us, the Californians gave the world localism. Besides we all ride short boards, sounds like only a bunch if US expats could be stationed in the place for so long and also be arrogant enough to claim it as their own. It will just be a matter of time before the Yakusa find them! As far as they are concerned everything belongs to them. Watch your fingers boys.
