English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): Probably the most consistent break in Chiba. Pretty gentlr wave, even when it gets big. But surf here at your own risk. Major pollution pouring out of the river. Plan on having your stomach pumped if you swallow any water.

Great place to surf!!!!!! - I have surfed here about 10 times now as I work for an airline that flies here(Iam here about 3 times a month). It is a classic break that gets consistant waves and is easy to get to. As a foregin surfer the locals are very friendly and if you show respect you will get bucket loads in return....just remember dropping in is not cool here, even boogie boarders get right of wave!!! If your a lazy surfer you will love this place as there is a pier the struts out into the line up and is used as a jump off point. Catch a wave to shore, run along the pier jump off (6-7ft drop)and your back in the line up. SWEEEEEEEET! Again all that I can say is be respectful...Its Japanese culture!

GREAT SPOT!!!!! - I had my first surf in Japan at this spot last week, Blooooooodyyyyy freeeeeezing !!!!!! (make sure you take booties and gloves with your 5,4,3mm.) The surf made up for it though, 3 to 4 foot semi clean and not that crowded. The easiest way to get out the back is to walk out on the pier and jump off. (6 to 7 foot drop on low tide)

Nup, it is rubbish! - It's consistent but man is it a rubbish wave! It's so crowded and will never be the best place to surf on the day, there is always somewhere better than Katagai! (I hear sometimes in a typhoon swell it can be worth a look but personally I woudn't bother)
