English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): Go here when Big Wave Bay is big and not working. It is a sponger only spot, since it is a shorebreak, but when it is big a shortboarder can ride it. Watch out for the rips, which are quite visible. Not many people know about this spot, until it was in the news, showing some spongers in a typhoon. You need a big winter swell or a typhoon swell for it to go off.
Atmosphère
English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): Nice little town, tranquil compared to the rest of Hong Kong. Don't even go there when it is small, unless you want to chill on the beach.
Général
English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): Good, cuz no kooks go there, since there is no places to rent boards from. Usually not many people.

How to check when it works? - I am moving back to HK in Jan and like to keep on surfing there (actually body board). How can I check that Check O is working before I take a ride from central? Any reliable web site where I can check the swell? It the spot really sensitive to the wind? Thanks for your advise

shek o surf - yeahh theres surf this time of year mann, easy enough to get to, catch the mtr (railway) to shau kei wan, get off at the exit saying bus terminus, go to the end of the terminus and catch the number 9. the number 9 ends in shek o so youll know when your there. easy enough to find, bring your own board though, no rentals in shek o. if you need to rent, better of visiting dai long wan hong kong side.
