lame - Mak,if you "hate" Berg so much, why even paddle out?
You'd be helping alot with the crowd situation by staying out the water and not writing crap about our spot. Thanks.
As for the "commercialism"; this spot is the stepping stone for Cape Town surfer's. Don't believe me? Then come watch the local groms surf. Those laaties probably surf better than you!
I agree with Nick. This place has got some decent waves when it's on. Clearly all of you that have negative comments about this spot have only surfed it because there was nothing else going at the time.
This place has dedicated locals who tear the waves to sh!t, yet remain chilled under the crowd pressure. They are the ones who are here everyday, checking out the line up. Don't like what i have to say? Tough. Don't paddle out and give the "beginners" more space in the water!

Try False Bay Mike.. - No bru, not quite, head to the false bay side not the atlantic.. Muizenberg is just before Kalk Bay, at the end of a long stretch of beach that leads almost all the way to Strand, which in my opinion is a better spot for beginners. Check a map out, cheers, J

Plenty of space - Sure on a sunny, 3ft offshore Sunday there are literally hundreds of people having a jol at Muizies, but for all the suckers complaining about the crowd, it's your own fault if you're caught in a mob. Muizies is a beach break that spans kilometres and the break is the same all the way down. It's not like long beach, where you're fighting for a ride on a good weekend day. On a beautiful day, go sit in front of the rocks or beyond the river, you'll see me there on the end. Chase any wave you like, it's yours. Only reason you'd sit in the mob if you hate crowds is if you're scared of the sharks. Get over it and go down the beach. Just please, quite your bitching. Muizies is a gem.
