English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): Not a good wave but warm water and the fascinating culture of Mombasa and Kenya make up for it. Shifting and sectiony lefts at the base of cliffs, high tide has too much backwash and the tidal shifts are pretty massive. Stays rideable due to cliff protection. Jump off cliffs for access to the break.
Atmosphère
English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): Mombasa is a run down and fascinating port city on Kenya's southern coast. Good food and an array of cultures and customs. Beautiful beaches to the north and south and the diving on the outside barrier reef is the real draw.

local - I grew up in Kenya and i remeber when i wa a kid i used to go out to english point and another place just of malindi bay, they were both reef breaks, well malindi was more like a mud bank break haha. Heavy heavy waves at English point, i have sat on the cliffs and watched sets role in 8-10ft, i was too chicken to go out then haha. Been living in australia for the past 2 and a half years and have had a chance to really improve my surfing, so looking forward to getting back home and ripping into some monster walls. I would love to get a crowed together in a boat and just go all the way from somalia to tanzania looking for the perfect wave. If anyone is keen on doing so, please contact me on yzinger69250@yahoo.com.au i know it would take alot of effort and probably money as we need a boat. But could you imagine the expeience and the thrill of finding waves never ridden before and being the firt one to do ever to do so. Anyone interested please contact me, will be back in kenya in dec this year, hopefully for good. cheers. Ryan

surfing partner - dont think that you will find anyone for surfing at the moment.. the waves are small as it is off season.. and if you want to go to the reef, then u need a way to get out.. cuz its a long paddle.

Change - Things have changed here and The point rarley breaks at a consistant rate. Now more a a big close out wave with lots of foam. Better of going just a little further up the coast and checking out the reef there.
