Pacific Ocean side is warm enough for shorts/rashguard except in dead of winter (Jan-Feb), and late MAY and early JUNE when water temps drop dramatically due to Aleutian Current. 3/2 fullsuit NICE for these 2 months. RE: Gulf/Sea of Cortez... Shorts/rashguard OK almost year around, but a 1 to 2mm jacket cuts the wind nicely when it blows cold off the desert.

Baja California Sur - Isn't this actually called Baja California Sur even by the locals? And no it isn't some USA thing. Even California is a SPANISH name. I was told Baja Sur was an awesome place to surf. Went to southern Mexico on vacation and asked about it, and I was promptly ridiculed for being an idiot American and told it is Baja California Sur. So for accuracy, and ease of finding the place, maybe it would be better to correct it? Just saying...

surfing in December - I am heading to cabo at the end of december and was wondering which spots with consistant breaks to check out. Looking for decent breaks for a beginner/intermediate. cheers.
