English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): South Island, North Coast - This region is a big loop from Westport to the Clarence river. It is fairly hilly, making driving between surfing areas slow. Nelson is the main city in the region and Picton is the usual first point of contact as the North-Island ferry arrives there. The Marlbourough Sounds are a famous sailing area, and Able Tasman National Park offers great walking (tramping), sea-kayaking and beaches.

good waves on nelson? - I'm going to stay like one year on nelson's city, and i would like to know where are the best spots to surf in, i practice bodyboarding, there are many bodyboarders on NZ? thank you for your answer.

Conditions in Marlborough - Hi, I'm just trying to find out if anyone knows the best conditions for surf at Robin Hood/Whites Bay. I generally go on southerly swell, with a northerly, but this doesn't always seem to work out. Could anyone give me tips for the area?
