I love this place - i have seen it seems every kind of wave in the whole world hit this beach. and it can be a very hairy break and it can be the most beautiful glass a kook could ever wanna be on.
every level of surfer ends up here at some point. on flat days walk a mile up and do some snorkel or walk a mile down and pitch a line in an catch din din,or come walk it both ways or tool your cruiser to the best look out there is.
people can be either way friendly or serial killers depending on the moon and whether they got some the nite before, but all means roll the dice and go there... i have, for the last 13 years.
its the best!

chilllllll outtt - I went to this spot while vacationing in boca. while i was there a ground swell was coming in and the place held good waves. also the locals I met were nice if you respected them. I actually had good conversation, just dont be an asshole and think you own the place.
good place good vibes

The devil? - J. Barham must like to post his own messages here to try to scare people. That guy is a pansy hiding behind his friends skirts. He tried that s**t on me and I told him to put up or shut up and he went running to his "bros"...LOL What a bunch of kooks trying to protect a mushy wave, go to Delray if you can rip.

De anonymous , 26-09-2004

boca hater - F boca. Why surf boca when you could drive 10 minutes up the road and surf delray. I hate boca surfers, you all are kooks.

anonymous - Yes, J Barham is the Devil. He likes to rip the fingers off the people he cuts off, then eat the fingers. He is an evil, evil man. Pavillion is a fun wave anyways, just watch out for J Barham: AKA: The Devil AKA: Crazy Mofo

they ruined it - this spot was going off...and it seemed to be getting better...until THEY ruined it. dredged sand and created a 200 foot beach. now this place is ruined like spanish river was 15 years ago. there are no more sand bars....its crap like it is at river...at least we have memories

Palmetto Park (S.Beach Pavillion) - Provided that you have a good swell coming in, I'd say that this is probably the best break in Southern Palm Beach County, aside from Delray Beach. It always seems to have better form and size than Spanish River park, Red Reef park, and Boca Inlet. On a typical day, waves break on the inside and are steep, small, and have decent form. On a good swell, waves break fairly far outside, with excellent form. I have seen this spot hold double overhead+ waves (Hurricane Isabel), that peeled down the beach for 200+ yards! The spot is usually fairly empty (especially early mornings), except on weekends. From my experience, the vibe here is pretty good, also. Caution: Ever since hurricane season, some hard rock has been exposed on the bottom on the inside bar, so be careful when jumping off your board or bailing in shallow water.
