fun surf spot - this place is fun. prolly the best spot in myrtle beach. only bad thing is the line up on the main peak, northside right on the pier is always the same local guys that are really good. they wont let you get to the lineup or they will box you out. there are a few dudes that will let you surf it. a guy named charlie, will and some dude with a longboard. they rip so just respect the locals and dont drop in on them and it'll be cool. it breaks good about a 100 yards north of the pier too.

well yea - i surf springmaid all the time and there are a lot of tourist which drop in on you a lot which is negative but it has a better break then most places in myrtle

Reef = negativo - There is absolutly no rock reef. Goto mbsurfing.com and you will see a rock reef from first avenue peir, Myrle Beach. Springmaid rippers 4 life!

reef? - yes there is sharks in the water.no reef at springmaid. that pic and thread is about some rocks at the lighthouse peir.

reef at the pier - There is a rocky reef at Springmaid pier. If you want proof go to MBSurfing. You can get some good waves, just watch out for sharks

tiger shark - if i ain't mistaken, the world record tiger shark was caught right off of this pier.
