English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): This spot used to be nice, 5 years ago and prior. Now it is more crowded than Wrightsville, particularly when the wind is from the north. I have surfed in Cali, costa rica, mexico, and puerto rico. Mas is the most crowded and harbors some of the worst vibes. The locals are pissed that the spot blew up. English (Traduisez ce texte en Français): You probably need a boat unless you are nuts enough to paddle across masonboro inlet and dodge the heavy boat traffic. The paddle out can be easy or you can throw anchor on the other side of the swell and paddle in. On a RARE day you might have some great surf to yourself. Otherwise, prepare to watch others drop in on you

Author suck dingalings - Obviously the dusche bag who wrote this is not a local resident. Local woodwork lowlifes? pretty lame. Thanks for catching a ride over to mase on your rich durahm friends boat. We'll make sure to give you plenty of waves. haha

Bull Sh*t - Sure mase is very fun, but very crowded. In recent months college kids have come over and ruined the island. I've seen many fights with locals beating the sh*t out of some wannabe bigshot. So warning to college kids stay at wb. Drop in on somebody and you'll be yelled at, beat, or taken off on on every wave. Recently the city has thought of closing the island because of all the trash and crap college kids are leaving on the island. so don't mess with the locals and stay away. The other guys obviously don't know the place and arent locals.

me - Mase is a great wave on the right conditions. Quick drops, fast waves. It can get really hollow, but usually thin lipped. None of these pictures do it justice. A few years ago it used to be a fun wave, but now dropping in is similar to playing the game frogger, you had better watch out. Yes it is true that frat boys will come out in full force, but they aren't the ones to worry about. The 20 something assholes who can actually surf and think they own the break are the real problem here. Look for the older guys, they are usually chill.
