 Informations supplémentaires

in front is the beach break with numerous peaks that work at all tides, far right there is a point break which fires a sucky wave when all else is too big best at a lower tide though!
carry on up the beach to the left and you will find at mid to high tides, multiple reef breaks which give a real punchy feel, here the beach becomes a lot prettier, some people are making real nice thatched cabins on stilts, but when i was there they hadnt finished them yet! (feb-mar 2003)
there are other breaks i was told about but youd have to find them for yourself!
its a cool place beacause playa venao, cambutal and guanico is all quite close to each other so its a good place to be when there is waves.
check it out

croc city - just went to guanico, okay waves but left when i saw a 15ft croc cruising the shorebreak, definately not a wave worth risking. no crocs in cambutal though, so i went and stayed there.

Cervesa - Cervasa wave.sleepy and boring. bring a long board...don't bother. Go directly to Santa Cat.

Steve - Just finished a three day road trip to Guanico. The roads look kinda like DaNang, but the surf is terrific. Sets were 10' (some bigger) and held up that size. The lobster lunch was terrific at the beach-front fonda, and local surfer Luis was friendly, informative, and helpful. Definitely worth the trip!! Any questions, e-mail me.
