Informations supplémentaires
Find a dude named El Beliza in the town and he will surf with you (although he doesn't surf all that well). He will also guide you to some secret/other spots if you pay him some cords. The folks at any of the ranchos will watch your shit if you buy a drink or whatever after you surf.

Atmosphère
This is different than most of the surf in Nica because 1) instead of a pounding beach break, it is mellow with longer lines and walls. 2) There are pretty much no gringos there. 3) Almost no surfers! My chick and I surf alone most of the time there. Nothing to really do here but the local folks are friendly and loads of hammocks on the beach to chill and drink a brew or 40. As far as places to stay, all the restaurants have super basic rooms or you can pay 30$ to stay at the vista del mar in Masachapa and walk or taxi over for 40 cords. This is a great place to surf the mellow and fun beach break waves in the morning and then go to some of the close by pumpin breaks that you will need a car/guide to find.

Général
This was a nice change of pace from the pounding waves in much of Nica. You could ride a log here and it would be a great place for begginers but it is still super fun for a shortboard or a fish...kind of a cruisy wave (think Burros in Mex or a mellow but fun day at Trestles). I havent seen it on a huge swell but it was 1-2 ft over head every day for 4 days in July.
By the way, I never post surf spots but I did this one cause a) the local folks could really use a few bucks coming in here...there is nobody coming here and the people are cool. 2) The beach could hold 200 surfers easy cause the peaks are kinda everywhere yet there was nobody there. 3) This is not an epic wave, just a fun place to surf with no crowd and access to other good spots.
