Description:
The tide was too high this morning but i've been surfing it for the past 5 days. It was only small (and when i say small some of the sets were 2-3m) and breaking real close to the rocks so when you didn't make the takeoff (which is often) you get washed straight over the reef and onto the rocks. The barrels can be tough to ride but when you get a good one it's worth it.

El gringo is a tough wave, its really shallow, thick & hollow and can take you from heaven to hell in half a second. best size is no more than 6 to 7 foot faces, both sides work perfect, try it on mid low tide to low tide, wearing a helmet and booties are a safe choice, be careful when duck diving. never trust the channel, make your entry by the open bay, cheers.
