I've been surfing for years but have never really given it enough attention to become what I'd truly call a surfer. Pretty embarrassing really...
I have 5 weeks holiday coming up and I'd like to find and uncrowded and really consistent spot anywhere on the planet to surf everyday and see if I can master the basics like a cutback and re-entry. I'm up for any suggestions and also don't mind being remote (prob essential if uncrowded)...Indo, Phillipines etc
I was thinking somewhere in Indo maybe..sumbawa?

Re:uncrowded intermediate spot anywhere - 2012/09/10 16:22I think you have to first learn surfing under a trainer which help you to gain your potential....

Re:uncrowded intermediate spot anywhere - 2012/09/12 05:17Don't agree - no need for a trainer, just get out there and try, try, try some more, watch others, learn, try again... repeat.
As for where... an nice easy point break, preferably over sand, with few surfers... how about Cerro Azul in Peru? Cheapish, good food and a great wave to learn on. If you want fewer crowds Bermejo in Peru is very good - but a but isolated.

Re:uncrowded intermediate spot anywhere - 2012/09/24 05:24Hi Jackson, Pisco hit your question right on the head. Get out there day after day, a safe point break would be awesome. There is also a spot in Mex...I think it is Saludita or something. A nice point break w/ a channel to paddle out in, can handle small to larger waves, mostly longer boards out there. A cool spot. Check the spots listed on this site, there is pretty good detail here. Have fun & respect the locals wherever you go!
