I'm an absolute beginner living in Switzerland and wanted to know whether you know any nice spots which are good for beginners. Preferably somewhere along the coast starting from Genova down to France...

Would like to find a spot which I can reach by car and go more frequently on weekends... any ideas?

Ok - Andrew, as a beginner, next reasonable place fm Switzerland is Viareggio/Italia with a sandy beach and frequent swells. The surfspots from Genova to France (Marseille) are mostly hazardous reef breaks not easy to handle if You startup. If You have more time, better go to the atlantic coast, 4-5 hours more to drive but ten times better for beginners.
